Fallout: The Roleplaying Game - New Vegas Setting Guide

New Vegas is the shining jewel in the desert of the Mojave: an independent state controlled and owned by the wealthy, reclusive, and seemingly immortal Mr. House. It is a glittering oasis that draws in wanderers and Wastelanders chasing caps and trying their luck. Behind the walls, little is off-limits, and those who play their cards right can find themselves riding high. But even the lucky can’t afford to relax–everyone knows how quickly the wind can change.

Beyond the Strip, many factions–from the NCR to the Brotherhood of Steel and Caesar’s Legion–have all fought to control the Mojave, only to be ground down by the Wasteland’s unending brutality. Hoover Dam became the epicenter of this conflict, until Mr. House brokered an uneasy peace and cemented his control over the region. But power and peace are difficult to hold onto. The Wasteland remains wild, its future uncertain, to be decided by the roll of a die...
